About us

Built by lifters who got tired of guessing.

BeatLast exists because we kept asking the same question mid-set: “Was that 60 or 62.5 last week?” We built the answer into a free app that works offline, has no ads, and does one thing well — show you what to beat.

Workouts Logged

A gym log shouldn't cost money — or require a manual.

Most workout apps either lock basic features behind a subscription or bury the one number you actually need — what you lifted last time — three taps deep. We wanted something simpler: open the app, see last session's sets and reps right next to the input, try to beat them, tap finish.

So we built it. BeatLast is a progressive web app that works offline, runs in the browser, and installs to your home screen without an app store. It tracks sets, reps, and weight in kg, detects personal records automatically, and shows a progress chart for every exercise. That's the whole product.

The blog exists for the same reason. Strength training advice online is either oversimplified clickbait or buried in academic jargon. Our guides cite the actual research — with links to the papers — and explain it in plain language. No supplements, no affiliate links, no “one weird trick.”

Four principles, no fine print.

Progressive overload first

Every feature exists to answer one question: did you beat last session? If it doesn’t serve that, it doesn’t ship.

Your data is yours

No ads, no tracking pixels, no selling your training history. Your workout data is private and stays that way.

Free, no catch

No premium tier, no feature gates, no trial that expires. The full app is free because a gym log shouldn’t cost money.

Built by lifters

We use BeatLast in our own sessions. Features come from the gym floor, not a product roadmap written in a boardroom.

Three lifters, one mission.

Gaurav leads strategy, growth, and partnerships at BeatLast. A recreational lifter for over a decade, he saw first-hand how most gym-goers plateau because they train from memory instead of data. He co-founded BeatLast to close that gap — a simple, free tool that puts last session’s numbers where they belong: right next to the bar.
